NovaComm integrates Apple iBeacon feature in its BLE module NVC-MDCS71

NovaComm formally released its new firmware by adding Apple iBeacon feature in BLE module NVC-MDCS71. Normally MDCS71 works in its standard iGate mode and iBeacon functionality in a separated working mode. The customer can enable it by sending an ASCII command to the module via UART interface. Once switching to the separated mode, the standard iGate function is disabled and the module works as a pure iBeacon station.

And the parameters of iBeacon, such as UUID, major and minor number can be set via the UART interface. Those parameters can also be set via Bluetooth when the module is working in iGate mode.
